If you are trying to think of a unique and useful gift for someone who travels a lot than consider giving them a travel pillow. If they have never owned their own pillow for traveling, they will definitely be grateful for this thoughtful present.
Most people over the age of 10 or so, have a hard time getting rest or even getting comfortable when on an extending trip in a plane, train, bus or car. For someone who has to travel a lot for their job, this can cause major stress. While some of us can be productive during business trips and then catch some sleep when needed, most people are constantly struggling with the cramped conditions when traveling and not being able to move around to get into a comfortable position.
A good travel pillow will give our head and neck the support it needs to decrease the chances of ending up with aches and pains once we reach our destination. When traveling by plane, having your own means that you will not have to depend upon the airline to provide one for you. With all of the recent cutbacks, many airlines do not provide them anymore. If they do, they are very small and usually not much help in making you comfortable. And then there is the issue of cleanliness. You may wonder who was using the pillow on the last flight.
If you have your own pillow you can be assured that you will be able to rest more comfortably and will reach your destination more prepared for whatever work or play you have scheduled.
So how do we choose which one to give as a gift? Look for a good quality pillow that will provide firm support. The memory foam version is very popular because they give support where needed and also conform to the shape of the individuals head and neck to provide comfort. These ones compress so they do not take up much space in a suitcase. Inflatable models are another good choice for the frequent traveler since they deflate for packing purposes. Make sure that you purchase a good quality inflatable pillow, there are some cheap ones on the market that develop leaks easily.
Choose a travel head rest that has a removable cover for cleaning and one that has a nice comfortable material on the outside that you would like to feel against your face. If you are shopping online, read some reviews of the products to see which ones are popular with other people who tried them.
More and more people are traveling today and they are traveling to more and more exotic places. This is exciting and a lot of fun, but we still need to be aware of security issues and keep our passport and valuables safe when we’re away from home. Manufacturers are aware of the problems, and have designed many products to insure our security. I’m sure you are aware that money belts have been around since travel began. Only now, there are a huge array of types and styles to please every traveler. There are styles that go around the waist, and these are available with one pocket or two or three compartments.
There are also money belts that are worn around the neck this style is popular with woman. This style has a strap that can be adjusted to go around the neck or also go around the shoulder or waist depending on the type of clothing you are wearing. Another style of money belt can be worn around the leg. Additionally, there are models that look like an ordinary leather belt and have hidden zippers on the underside. These will only hold money and not hold a passport. Additionally, there’s a loop or clip style money belt that attaches to a belt and is worn under your clothing. All of these money belts are designed to be worn hidden away from view and not exposed in public. You’ll travel with many travel accessories, but money belts are the most important to use while traveling.
Travel vest with multiple inside pockets are an ideal way to carry your valuables. The zippered pockets are on the inside of the vest as well as on the outside. These can be worn by men and women, and give you a place for everything. They are lightweight and easily washable. My favorite style is from Zip It Gear, because this model will also fold into a travel pillow for you to use on planes or trains. With size and weight restrictions on air travel, it’s nice to have one item that is dual purpose. The vest will easily fit into your lightweight luggage that you take on the plane, bus or train. A new item is a travel scarf from Xubaz Cargo II Neckwear. It looks like a scarf, but this supremely functional travel garment has six hidden pockets to comfortably carry a variety of essential items. It easily holds your passport, boarding pass, cash, cards, and small electronic items like your phone or MP3 player. Two patented straps secure the Cargo II to your waistband.
Besides money belts, there’s a new product called Identification Express. These are available from Easy-go products in leather or fabric. They hold your driver’s license (photo ID), your boarding pass and your passport. These are designed to be worn over your clothing while boarding planes, boats and trains. Instead of searching for your identification papers when you go through different security check points, you wear the Identification Express or ID express cases on a string around your neck. These help you to sail through security quickly and efficiently. These cases keep you from fumbling or losing anything while searching for the necessary identification to go through security or board.
ID express cases are also practical and popular as corporate gifts. They can be monogrammed or silk-screened with company names or logos. The leather models can be individually monogrammed also. All of these described products can help you to travel safely and securely and make your trip more relaxed and enjoyable.

#5 Travel Alarm Clocks
If you heard the story about the woman who passed out on a plane you would know exactly how important a travel alarm clock is. If you’ve never heard the story then allow me to explain. A woman on a twelve hour flight decided to get some rest. Upon arriving at her destination the flight crew didn’t wake her up. She was later found by the cleaning crew. Apparently she started a huge lawsuit over the matter.
Don’t let them happen to you and buy a travel alarm clock. The clock is portable and comes with a variety of functions depending on the one you buy. For example I’ve noticed some clocks have a dual-alarm clock function. If you don’t have that much money to spend this holiday season then you’ll be glad to learn you can find a this gift for less than ten dollars. The best part is that they almost never break. I’ve owned one for several years and I couldn’t break it even if I tried.
#4 Travel Pillows
You thought we were kidding when we said that people deboarding planes look hunched over in pain? With the travel pillow you’ll be able to upgrade your comfort level in trains, cars, and airplanes. Usually travel pillows allow individual cushioning of the neck and head for maximum relation. Travel pillows are always great for those extra long flights.
I know when I go on trips in the car I usually have to put my head on the window. I always wake up with a stiff neck. Instead of going through that pain I would have appreciated a travel pillow. The best part is that they’re inexpensive. In fact, I was able to find a few travel pillows for less than ten bucks each. Of course the highly recommended pillows have a higher price tag. It all depends on what you’re interested in spending on comfort.
#3 Books
You might be surprised to learn that waiting four hours on a layover isn’t fun. What’s even worse is boarding the plane and riding that for an extra five. Traveling can be seriously time consuming. Why not buy a gift that can get by security? If you’re man likes reading then there are thousands of titles to choose from. If he doesn’t like reading then you could always buy him a magazine.
Another great suggestion when it comes to books is getting an eReader. The reason I support eReaders is because they cut the demand for pulp products. Plus, many of the eBook titles are a lot cheaper than there paperback counterparts. If you can’t afford it then just get him a good book. I would recommend buying one that suits his interest.
#2 Paper Soap, Shampoo, and Laundry Soap
I bet you didn’t know that Shampoo and soap came in the form of paper? Instead of stuffing your big with huge bottles of soap and shampoo just get the paper version. All you have to do is add water to one of these business card sized sheets and you’re good to go. Typically you can find this gift for less than ten dollars. A single set will come with about 30 sheets.
We thought this was a neat gift for a few reasons. The first is that we’ve never heard of paper soap before in our entire life. We only found out about them when doing research for this article. We also like to recommend cheap gifts that can be used as stocking stuffers. If you’re interested in finding paper soap they can be found on most major eCommerce websites.
#1 Digital Camera
When you’re traveling the world you might want to take a picture? Of course if you mans on business all the time he might not appreciate this gift as much. I know when I was growing up my dad would travel all of the toy. Usually what he did would bring home pictures to show me everyplace he had been. It kind of made up for him not being there.
Typically digital cameras can be found for less than one hundred dollars. That’s the most expensive gift on our entire list. You can actually probably get it a lot cheaper than that. At the writing of this article there are actually a couple digital cameras that are highly popular. The first being the flip UltraHD video camera. It’s the most popular digital camera. Alternatively you could choose it’s equally as popular competitor the Nikon Coolpix. It’s not quite as popular but it comes in at a cheaper price. Even still both digital cameras are pretty cheap.
